SIMFONIJSKI ORKESTAR HRVATSKE
RADIOTELEVIZIJE (ZAGREBAČKI SIMFONIČARI) - Od 1930. godine
u okviru Radio stanice Zagreb djeluje Radio orkestar kao instrumentalno
tijelo manjeg sastava. S vremenom orkestar raste i dosiže
veličinu simfonijskog orkestra. 1951. utemeljuje se Komorni
orkestar Radio Zagreb s dirigentom Antonijom Janigrom. Taj
Abbado, Lorin Maazel, Igor Markevitch, Zubin Mehta - i brojnim
najistaknutijim instrumentalnim i vokalnim solistima. Posebno
značenje orkestar pridaje hrvatskom glazbenom stvaralaštvu
te su gotovo svi značajniji hrvatski skladatelji pisali djela
namijenjena upravo tom orkestru. Iako mu je snimanje za potrebe
HRT primarna djelatnost, u kojoj je ostvario mnoštvo vrhunskih
snimaka, posebno suvremene glazbe, orkestar je izveo i velik
broj koncerata na brojnim festivalima i gostovanjima u zemlji
i svijetu.

CROATIAN RADIO AND TELEVISION
(HRT) SYMPHONIC ORCHESTRA (The ZAGREB SYMPHONICISTS) - Since
1930, a smaller instrumental group by the name of 'The Radio
Orchestra' has been playing on the Zagreb radio. Slowly, the
orchestra has developed into a symphonic orchestra. In 1951,
'The Zagreb Radio Chamber Orchestra' was founded, headed by
conductor Antonio Janigro. In 1957, the orchestra was renamed
to 'The Symphonic Orchestra', and then to 'The RTZ Zagreb
Symphonicists'. The orchestra was led by many distinguished
names, such as Miroslav Spiller, Lovro pl. Matačić, Boris
Papandopulo, Milan Horvat, Antonio Janigro, Pavle Dešpalj,
Jozef Daniel, Uroš Lajovic, Vladimir Kranjčević, Nikša Bareza.
It also successfully worked with many foreign distinguished
conductors - Claudio Abbado, Lorin Maazel, Igor Markevitch,
Zubin Mehta and a number of the most prominent instrumental
and vocal soloists. The orchestra shows great appreciation
for the Croatian musical heritage and to the fact that the
majority of Croatian distinguished composers wrote for this
particular orchestra. Although recording for the Croatian
Radio and Television (HRT) remains its primary activity, which
is evidenced by many extraordinary recordings, especially
of contemporary music, the orchestra has managed to perform
on numerous concerts and festivals at home and abroad.
