ORKESTAR OPERE HRVATSKOG NARODNOG
KAZALIŠTA U ZAGREBU - počeci se vezuju za prvu kazališnu zgradu
na Markovom trgu kada se 1870. osniva stalna opera pod vodstvom
Ivana Zajca. Paralelno s aktivnošću u opernim i baletnim izvedbama,
orkestar veliku pozornost pridaje i simfonijskim koncertima
te 1919. dolazi do reorganizacije i odvajanja kazališnog orkestra
od filharmonijskog. Daljnji put bogate i svestrane djelatnosti
opernog orkestra vezan je za sudbinu cjelokupnog opernog ansambla
i njegov repertoar. Uz stalno izvođenje najznačajnijih opernih
djela svjetskog opernog stvaralaštva posebno se domaćem hrvatskom
repertoaru i opernom i baletnom stvaralaštvu posvećivana velika
pozornost, te je zasluga ovog orkestra upravo u promicanju
i čuvanju hrvatske nacionalne kulturne glazbene baštine. Orkestar
Opere Hrvatskog narodnog kazališta zajedno s cjelokupnim ansamblom
često gostuje i u inozemstvu u najvećim opernim kućama i na
brojnim festivalima. Opera Hrvatskog narodnog kazališta uvijek
je bila središte hrvatskih glazbenih zbivanja i izvorište
brojnih generacija orkestralnih glazbenika i pjevača koji
su uz djelovanje u matičnoj kući predstavljali hrvatsku umjetnost
širom svijeta.

CROATIAN NATIONAL THEATRE
(HNK) OPERA ORCHESTRA in ZAGREB - the origins are tied with
the first theatre building which was located on St. Mark's
square, where in 1870, under the leadership of Ivan Zajc,
a permanent opera house was founded. Along with the opera
and ballet activities, the orchestra is often performing symphonic
concerts, which leads to eventual reorganization in 1919,
when theatrical and philharmonic orchestra are separately
formed. Ever since, the rich and versatile activities of the
opera orchestra have been closely related to the faith of
the entire opera ensemble and its repertoire. The orchestra
has been performing all the great works from the world of
opera, particularly operas and ballets from Croatian authors,
earning itself the credit for promoting and preserving the
national cultural and musical heritage. The Opera Orchestra
and the entire ensemble often perform abroad where they are
being hosted by some of the greatest opera houses and various
festivals. The HNK Opera has always been the central stage
for Croatian musical events and the source of many generations
of orchestral musicians and vocals who represented Croatian
artistry in their performances throughout the world.
