L'ELEPHANT QUARTET – a double-bass quartet is the first quartet of that kind in this area, and very rare in a music world. It came up from the Zagreb Soloists' School of Chamber Music and continued with a professional activity. Successful performances on the Zagreb Soloists' Chamber Music Festival through the years achieved recognition for the Quartet. Their significant performances are the Quartet's first introducing on the Tribune of the Croatian Music Creativity in Pula. For the Croatian Radio and Television they recorded "Ormar's Dance" by D. Palanović, "Strawberry fields forever" by Lennon-McCartney, "Besame mucho" by C. Velasquez, "Libertango" by A. Piazzolla, and Fantasia "Grožnjan 2000" by D. Palanović. Their first performance abroad was on the Ascoli-Piceno Festival in Italy, and in Celje (Slovenia) in 2004, and Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina) in 2005.
Unique sound of the L'Elephant Quartet embraces a specific repertoire from classic to swing music, evergreen songs, and contemporary compositions written for that ensemble as well.
